Deeper Dive into Being, Sensing, and Engaging

At the heart of the Corentus Team Coaching Model are three pivotal abilities essential for any team coach aiming to make a significant impact on the teams they support:

  • Being: At the core of our model, “Being” underscores the indispensable skill of maintaining self-awareness and a clear state of mind. This foundational quality enables a team coach to optimally sense and engage with a team, ensuring interactions are both meaningful and impactful.

    • Gain a profound understanding of the importance of your “being” in the team coaching chair and at all times when engaging all stakeholders within the team’s system.

    • Cultivate a heightened level of understanding of why it is essential to increase your level of self-awareness and ability to shift your state for effective sensing and engaging while team coaching.

  • Sensing: Sensing focuses on the coach's capacity to accurately discern a team's current dynamics and functioning. Through keen observation and data collection in real-time, a team coach can grasp the essence of a team's interactions, challenges, and strengths, setting the stage for effective engagement as a team coach.

    • Sharpen your ability to understand a team's current dynamics through real-time observation and data gathering with models such as the Corentus O-P-N Model™.

    • Increase understanding of the importance of higher-level sensing and observation skills of a team in its current state and as it moves into its desired future state, including ways a team coach can direct a move to increase the team’s awareness of either one or both states.

    • Receive tailored feedback on your sensing and observation skills necessary for self-awareness, interpersonal awareness, and systems awareness.

    • Increase your ability to sense for the What, Why, When, Who, and How to sharpen how you engage a team during a team coaching session.

  • Engaging: The skill to make real-time interventions that foster an expansion of awareness among team members individually and as a collective team. By engaging skillfully, a team coach can build a team’s capabilities, enhance cohesion among its members, and elevate the team's overall effectiveness and performance.

    • Apply advanced skills when preparing to engage with a team during a team coaching session, including the subtleties when using the “Entry Clause” and “Permission Clause.”

    • Learn and apply the Corentus O-P-N Model™ for thoughtful and intentional team coaching move-making.

    • Learn advanced models, methods, and techniques to make more mindful and impactful moves, such as the Corentus Six Box Move Model™.

    • Apply and receive feedback using the One Box, Multiple Box, Box Sequencing, etc.

These three core abilities—Being, Sensing, and Engaging—form a comprehensive approach for team coaches dedicated to developing high-performing teams. By cultivating these abilities, team coaches are better equipped to have a profound impact on the leadership teams they support.
